My nephew didn't just drown. We believe police officers are responsible for his death.
It is our belief that my nephew, Tristan Sheppard, was a victim of police brutality. His civil rights were violated, and we believe Bibb County police are responsible for his death.
It’s been 16 months, and we still don’t know what happened in his final moments. Officials claim he ran and jumped into the Cahaba River. But just before the one-year anniversary, we learned the District Attorney was investigating an officer and preparing for a Grand Jury.
From day one, we’ve been denied the police reports, the official autopsy records with photos, body cam, and dash cam footage. If this was a simple drowning, why hide the evidence?
Two days after his death, the Centreville Chief of Police held a press conference and claimed there was no physical contact before Tristan entered the Cahaba River. But Tristan’s body told a very different story.
What we saw when we finally viewed his body… changed everything.
Let’s reach 1,000 signatures today.
Do it for Tristan. Do it for the truth.
